“Tails from the Harbor”
Mural Dedication

Mural ribbon cuttingOver 200 folks braved the heat and attended our mural dedication on June 20th. What an amazing turnout! A BIG THANK YOU to the residents, visitors, and businesses whose support made this mural happen!

So What’s Our Next Mural Project?

The New Punta Gorda Charlotte Library!

Our next mural will be on the arched wall facing Shreve Street on the new Punta Gorda Charlotte Library at 401 Shreve Street, Punta Gorda. It will celebrate the 111-year history of the library in Punta Gorda.
The first Public library was opened on April 1st, 1908 at the Guild room in the Rectory of the Episcopal Church in town. It moved (and expanded) four more times over the years and will soon move into this new location.
Artist Skip Dyrda created the proposed design for the mural shown below. The concept is a combination of showing this history and the importance of the library to all ages, while presenting these elements in an interesting composition that will attract and hold the attention of young and old.

Next Step – Raise the needed Funds – $28,800
